5 reasons why you need an online gallery for your wedding.

So, you just lost your photos & you urgently need them from your photographer but you can’t get to him because of the pandemic or you stay very far? Hie folks, today we are going to be talking about the 5 reasons Why you need an online gallery for your wedding or photoshoot.

Coming in at number 5.

With the rising cost of data bundles, family and friends will be asking you to send them your wedding pictures or the pictures that they took with you. By having a gallery online, you can simply share a link then they can download what they want whenever they like.

Google Drive Link

Since everything is going digital these days, gone are the days where your photographer would give you a DVD disk that had all your images on in. Most of the time you get your pictures on a usb thumbstick or via WhatsApp. We all know what usually happens to your USB flash sticks right? a friend will borrow and format your USB flash drive then boom it hits you the flash had your pictures and poof pictures are gone. In the event you lose your photos, they will be no need for you to call or drive all the way to your photographer’s place you can just re-download them from the online gallery…..well unless if you really like your photographer you can just go and get them again.

Online Galleries are different from social media because they are private, most of them are free and you can set passwords so that no one can access them unless if they have the passwords. Social media does the same job of keeping your pictures but the difference Is people get to comment on your pictures and if the social media site goes out of service your pictures go down with it.

Below are a few online storage sites you can try for free

Coming in at number 2.

Storage media gets lost, damaged or obsolete, imagine those guys who had their files on floppy disks or old VCR tapes, If you are to give anyone in this day and age they won’t have anywhere to play this type of media, some are even struggling with DVD’s because newer laptops no longer have DVD drives. Who knows what will go obsolete next, If you have a online gallery your pictures will always be safe and available at anytime, anywhere in the world.

VHS Tape

Coming in at number 1.

Disaster strikes at any given time. It doesn’t matter what storage medium you have, recently I was installing windows and this happened. I accidentally formatted my 2 Terabyte and all my work was gone, eish I can only imagine all those customers that I no longer have your wedding or I lost your photos. Lucky for me I knew what to do but it greatly affected my work schedule It took me almost 3 weeks to get back everything.

Some of our Work

Losing your photos is critical guys, your favourite photographer may not always be a photographer for the rest of his or her life. With time we hang our cameras change to other business, and you might hear I am now into farming. Your media company will try to keep your photos and videos but it is also up to you as the client to do your personal back up.

I would love to know if you have ever lost your photos or video, did you try to recover them or you just gave up? Did you ever format your USB that had your photos? Let me know in the comments below what happened to your pictures.
